Even more toys

December 28th, 2007 No comments

This might sound crazy but we actually spent this morning in Toys’r'us in Swansea. Daft I know with Chirstmas day having only just passed us by, but there was a darn good reason for us being there.

Some friends of ours – the Smith family – had kindly given DDWT Junior a £30 voucher for the said store, so with the sales now in full swing we thought now was the best time to part with it! After DDWT Junior had used the Argos catalogue to research his ‘wants’ (he obviously takes after me LOL) it was time to hit the road.

Thankfully the torrential rain must have deterred most people – who weren’t in work – from venturing out, as the roads were rather quiet (thankfully). We did wonder however, why we didn’t choose the sensible option and stay in the warmth and dry haven of our home.

Anyway, after braving the elements and being in the store for in excess of an hour, as well as having survived several tantrums – we left Toys’R'Us laden with toys (much to DDWT Junior’s excitement). So we’ve spent the rest of our day having some great fun playing the MB games trio of Hungry Hippos, Buckaroo, Elefun and Hotwheels Raptor.

It really has been super fun and I’ve enjoyed spending the quality time with the family (even if it’s only playing games) as that’s what I miss when I’m at work – so I’m savouring every minute of these holidays as you can imagine.

John Lewis Sale

December 27th, 2007 No comments

For those of you that didn’t know already – the John Lewis sale has now kicked off with some items being half-price or less.

What’s even better is that John Lewis are offering FREE delivery on ANY order amount as well – now that’s what I call a bargain.

We’ve just picked up a couple of Leapfrog toys in the sale for DDWT Junior’s birthday in January, both of which were half price.

Swansea v Cheltenham Town

December 26th, 2007 No comments

For the 3rd consecutive home game the Swans strolled to a comfortable victory and cemented their place at the top of league one with a 2 point and game in hand cushion over FEC Forest.

The Robins of Cheltenham can have little to complain about as they were simply outclassed for the entire 90 minutes and the 4-1 scoreline could (should?) have been more but for some slack finishing.

Watching the Swans is great at the moment, not only because they are winning but because of the stylish football they are playing and the number of goals they are scoring – it really is “just like watching Brazil” ;)

Everyone shone on the pitch today and despite the official MotM award going to 2 goal Andy Robinson, I think most people myself included felt that Darren Pratley should have got the award again. For my money, he’s playing his best football thus far in his Swans career and long may it continue.

Quite a few people have been discussing the reasons why the Swans have finally clicked over the last few weeks, well my personal opionion is that the midfield have finally started passing the ball whilst going forward – as opposed to the lateral direction they were taking during the early games in the season. The result of this of course is that teams are defending deeper against a 5 man midfield who are now assisting the solitary man up-front.

Next up is the once mighty Leeds United on Saturday and with a full house guaranteed at the Liberty stadium, it’s sure to be one hell of a showdown.
