Yes I thought that might grab your attention! Now I’ve got your attention, please read on to find out how you could win yourself a box containing 12 of the legendary and multi-awarding winning Gower Cottage Brownies.

Anyone whom has ever tasted these chocolate brownies wouldn’t have failed to be impressed by their soft, lovely chocolatey taste, which (for me) kept me wanting more and more! In fact I ended up eating 7 of them in one sitting…OINK OINK.
If the chocolate variety doesn’t tickle your tastebuds, then there are lots of other brownies to try out – dairy free, gluten free, brownies with walnuts and brownies with hazelnuts. A kind of heaven for brownie groupies I guess.

Even if you’re not a chocoholic like me, they’d make a lovely gift for the cake lover in anyone (especially on Mother’s Day). The stunning packaging makes for an impressive first impression on anyone who’s fortunate enough to receive a box of them as a gift (just ask my wife!).
So what do you have to do to be in with a chance of winning the box? Well it’s quite simple really, all you have to do is vote for Gower Cottage Brownies in the Smarta 100 Awards.
Everyone who casts a vote will be entered into the hat for the prize draw, which will take place on Saturday, October 1st 2011 at 8pm. The winner will be announced on Facebook and Twitter!
You’ll need to be quick though as you’ve only got until Tuesday, September 20th to vote… so what are you waiting for!

You can further increase your chances of winning by Please RT” title=”Click to send this page to Twitter!” target=”_blank”>sharing this article on Twitter.
You know what they say… if you’re not in it, then you can’t win it
Good luck to everyone!
If you’re a Swansea City fan (like me) then you’ll be chuffed to bits with the Premier League treat that the Pizza Hut have lined up for all Swan’s fans.
I was initially unaware of these Swans related offers and deals until (over the weekend), when I happened to notice that a certain ‘Pizza Hut Swansea’ had started following me on twitter.
A few tweets later and both my palate and I were pleasantly surprised (and impressed!) by what offers were being served up for Swansea City fans by the Pizza Hut in Swansea. What offers I hear you ask, well…
Simply visit any one of the three Pizza Hut restaurants in Swansea – that’s Morfa, the Kingsway or Fforestfach (for those that don’t know) – and you can feast yourself on unlimited Pizza, Pasta and Salad Buffet for just £4.99* – as long as you are wearing a Swansea City football shirt!

* Please note that this offer is ONLY available on weekdays until 3pm.
I’m reliably informed by the guys at Pizza Hut Swansea that this is just the start of some fantastic Swans related Pizza Hut deals.
If you’d like to know about these fantastic deals, then either keep checking this blog or follow PizzaHutSwansea on Twitter.
As a parting shot, I’ll leave you with a picture of what’s left of tonight’s offering (and a favourite of mine)… a large Hawaiian Cheesy Bites!

So what’s your favourite then?
Five days on from the first serving of turkey breast and we have finally (thankfully!) finished the last few strands of the big bird. Never again will I purchase such a mammoth bird – so big it almost didn’t fit in the oven – as if I ate any more of the darn thing I swear I’d go down with turkey poisoning.
Apart from Christmas dinner, we had turkey sanwiches (spinach, salad, etc varities), turket toasties and turkey curry – arguably the nicest of the lot, apart from it’s intended Christmas dinner usage of course.
Looking on the bright side, at least that’s it for now, well until next Christmas anyway.
It’s in part thanks to my over indulgence of the turkey – not to mention the trimmings – that I’ve found my running being somewhat hard work during the last few days – or at least that’s how it feels! I felt decidedly iffy after my 56 minute 16 second workout today. Mind you if could also have been the fact that the distance of approximately six and a half miles was the most I’d done for a heck of a long time.
Phew what an eventful day I’ve had – which is the complete opposite to a normal Saturday whereby I don’t do much at all.
My first port of call was my Mam and Dad’s who needed a piece of roof fascia board replacing and a leaky window sorted. I must confess to having been a touch nervous about undertaking the task – I’m not a lover of ladders and the bit that needed replacing was literally right on the edge of the house.
After a bit of trial and error I managed to get the ladder in a safe position – the narrow pathway below was safer than the embankment further back! It was then time to start fiddling with the replacement wooden fascia. After what seemed a ‘grand old duke of york’ time going up and down the ladder – I finally got the ideal fit. It was then time to add a cement finish! I was glad to see the back of job number one, but pleased with the result nevertheless.
The leaky window fix was a darn sight easier and straightforward I can tell you. I was even afforded the luxury of having DDWT Junior supervise in his new found role of foreman!
It had been a good start to the day and my parents were happy with the jobs I’d done.
We decided in the afternoon to take a trip into Swansea to get a few jobs done rather than sit around the house and garden. These ‘jobs’ included a visit to Toys ‘R’ Us where DDWT Junior finally got another Playmobil Dinosaur which he’d been promised and Baby DDWT got a small gift for her pushchair too.
Tea time quickly arrived and as it was such a lovely afternoon/evening I suggested that we took a nice stroll from Blackpill down to West Cross – well Dick Barton’s chippy to be precise. Dick Barton’s is legendary in these parts and I don’t think I’ve set foot inside the place in over 20 years, until tonight that is.
It was actually quite nice to take the family there as my parents had done with me when I was small. So the house of DDWT can now say that they’ve all experienced Dick Barton’s – well all of them except baby DDWT.
With our tummies full it was time to make our way back to the car, but not without taking a few snaps and having a pit stop at Blackpill lido.
So all in all it’s been a busy, but very enjoyable day. I’ll have to remember days like this when I’m next lounging around at home on a weekend!
I’ve just returned from Asda’s in Morriston, having stocked up on fresh vegetables for Christmas day – and I can only describe it as a bizarre and crazy hour or so!
Given the siege mentality that appears to grip the nation on Christmas Eve – especially in respect of carrots, swedes, bread, milk, etc, I’d decided a dew days back that I’d hit the local 24 hour stores in the wee hours rather than early morning. As it was a Sunday, the stores were in the bizarre position of closing at 4pm and then re-opening at a minute past midnight.
So I duly arrived (safely) at Asda’s about 10 minutes past midnight, having encountered several boy racers/drunken drivers along the way and by that I mean the type who overtake you near a bend and around the road bollards.
I was shocked. Not only was it really busy, but they hadn’t re-stocked the bloody shelves! What’s the point in opening “early” if most of the fresh produce isn’t due “until the middle of the night” – as one of the shop assistants told me.
Anyway, there was just about enough fresh veg left for me to get what I needed, but I wasn’t impressed. Next year I think I’ll wait until the morning rush as I doubt it’ll be that much busier and the choice will be better.
I suppose the only positive was that I bumped into Swansea City’s very own Mr Versatile – Alan Tate – whilst in the store and stopped to have a chat with him, or rather he was complaining to me that his mrs had written the list and he didn’t know where everything was! Still it was nice to chat to him and it was refreshing to see how down to earth he was. Nice one beaker!
