Swans v Robins

August 5, 2006

There’s not a lot I can say about the game really, not because we lost but the way we lost. It really was a very disappointing performance and to be honest we never even looked like winning – despite all the pre-match hype about us being certainties.

Players worth a mention for all the wrong reasons are Tom Williams and Kevin Amankwaah – change the letters around of the latter’s surname and you get the gist of how both of them played. I suppose as both of them are defenders (left back and right back respectively) it tells it’s own story. Both the Cheltenhams goals were from our mistakes and that makes the 2-1 defeat harder to swallow. Leon Knight scored our consolation, although if the truth be known we squandered 3 other decent chances after pulling a goal back. You can read a full match report from the Swans official site if you really want.

Let’s just hope the Swans can bounce back against the Irons of Scunthorpe on Tuesday – otherwise I feel we might be in for a season of mid-table obscurity.

After the frustrating events of the afternoon I took my spade to the garden in frustration this evening and continued laying more lawn. It seemed to do the trick as I was in a far better hywl (that’s Welsh for mood) afterwards.

DDWT Junior has now started saying ‘mine’ quite a bit, which is rather amusing as almost any object he gets his hands on his now ‘mine’ as he says. It’s amazing how much kids copy and mimic what you do though and we’ve already been caught out a few times with things we’ve either said or done (some far too embaressing to mention!).
