Gordon the sandblaster

September 21, 2006

The 19 mile bike ride today was one of the most uncomfortable and downright knackering I have ever had the misfortune of doing. The wind was more like a gale and it made the journey along Swansea Bay, Bracelet Bay, Caswell, Langland, Murton, Fairwood Common, Killay, Derwen Fawr and then back along Swansea Bay again absolute murder – for the whole 1 hour 26 minutes duration!

Coming back the wind was so strong that it was blowing the sand off the beach right at us – for the only time in my life I knew how it felt to be sandblasted! The back end of Hurricane Gordon certainly has a lot to answer for.
