I’ve been to…..

January 9, 2007

Given the torrential rain and gale force wind, I opted out of doing any form of training today and decided to stay in the office and catch up on other stuff instead. This also meant that my flexi-time had more of a healthy look about it after several late starts and long lunch hours!

I came across a couple of Google related sites today (which were mentioned in ‘The Register‘). The first – www.googlefight.com – is basically a game whereby you choose two search terms and they “fight” it out (using Google) to see which has the most results associated with it. Sounds daft, but is actually quite fun.

The other site is – www.scroogle.org – is more for those of you who don’t like Google’s policy of keeping tabs on your search behaviour (and thus building up a profile of your search habits). Basically by using this site as your search page it fools the Google search engine into thinking it’s someone else – but ultimately you still get the search results you’re after. Pretty useful site actually.

In light of Saturday’s visit to Bramall Lane, a lot of Swans fans have been compiling lists of all of the football league grounds that they have visited to date, well I thought I’d join in the fun and list mine.

My first ever game was Swansea v Oldham Athletic at the Vetch Field 1980. Since then there’s been (excluding the Vetch Field and Liberty Stadium of course) in no particular order …

Goodison Park – Everton
Molineux – Wolverhampton Wanderers
Spotland – Rochdale (3 times)
Manor Ground – Oxford United
Glanford Park – Scunthorpe United
Gigg Lane – Bury
Twerton Park – Bristol Rovers
London Road – Peterborough United
McCain Stadium – Scarborough
Aggborough – Kidderminster Harriers
Maine Road – Manchester City
Edgar Street – Hereford United
The Racecourse – Wrexham (twice)
Ninian Park – Cardiff City
Plainmoor – Torquay United
Griffin Park – Brentford
Bramall Lane – Sheffield United
Gay Meadow – Shrewsbury Town
Moss Rose – Macclesfield Town

As you can see, I’ve still got one hell of a way to go to join the 92 club!
