With Christmas just around the corner and shops everywhere starting to put up their decorations – if they hadn’t done so already – I thought it was about time I signed up for the British Heart Foundation’s Swansea Santa Jog.
The Swansea Santa Jog is a fun and entertaining event which is sure to get you, me, everyone in the Christmas spirit – especially as I’ll be dressed in a santa suit (as will all the other participants)! It’s only a 2km course around the splendid Swansea Waterfront – so you can walk, jog or even run if you want – either way it’ll be great fun I’m sure.
The Santa Jog takes place on Sunday, November 25th and starts at 12:30pm in front of the National Waterfront Museum next to Swansea’s exciting Waterfront Winterland. So why not pop along and join in the fun or failing that you can sponsor me for a small amount (even a £1 will do) online – www.bhf.org.uk/sponsor/ddwt – remember every penny helps.
Wjilst on the subject of exercise, I actually went out for a 9 mile ride on my bike during my lunch hour today. I can’t even remember when the last time was. Anyway it felt great to be out in the fresh autumn air – which was surprisingly warm and sunny for October.
It took me about 35 minutes at an average speed of 15.6 mph (my max was 20.5 mph) but the stats are unimportant really, as it was just great to break up the day and clear my head in readiness for the afternoon’s work ahead.
So if you’re one of these people who dines ‘al-desko’ everyday, I can highly recommend some exercise to get your creative juices flowing – even if it’s only a brisk walk.
