My 365 Photo Challenge for 2021

With all of the UK currently in a level 4 lockdown, meaning that we are only meant to make essential journeys, I’ve decided to make the most of the daily time I spend walking by setting myself a challenge for 2021.

Regular readers of this site will know that I enjoy photography, so what better way to improve my photography skills than by challenging myself to share a photograph I take every single day of the year on my social media channels!

There are so many benefits to taking on such a challenge or at least that is what I am hoping!

It encourages me to get out and about more often (be it on foot, bike or car), which is not only good for my health but also my mental wellbeing.

Having to think about different photography subjects, depending on my locality at the time, will encourage me to be more creative with my photographs, whilst helping improve my Nikon D500 camera skills (as that is my go-to camera at the moment).

From an online presence perspective, sharing photographs on a daily basis will also raise awareness of my photographs but also (hopefully) increase my follower counts on my social accounts.

But most of all, I am looking forward to the enjoyment and sense of satisfaction it will give me, which given the current global pandemic and subsequent restrictions, is a major positive.

With the new year just a couple of days away, the next step is to start thinking about some topics for different days, along with a list of suitable hashtags for the challenge and subject matter of course.

The intention long term, well at the end of every month, is to review some of my favourite photographs, whilst also looking at which were the most popular on each of my three social media accounts – Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

But in the meantime, I’d like to wish you a safe and Happy New Year!
